by AdobephotoshopCS5.com on Feb.23, 2011, under News, Reviews, Tips, Web Design/Development

Within the recent years computers and their languages have become more and more apart of our life and especially our work life. Knowing the basics of any programming langue that makes up what you see on the internet will help you understand web pages and make them easier to navigate.  Having as many computer skills on you’re resume as possible is a huge plus for an employer when skimming over your resume.

Here is a site I am starting to develop for ASP.Net beginners, the site is www.dotnetforbeginners.com.

Compare Suite Editions

by AdobephotoshopCS5.com on Jun.03, 2010, under Adobe, Tips

Click to use Adobe's Chart

At Adobe.com they have a neat little chart that tells you what software components make up every suite they offer.  This is a very helpful tool when come time to purchase the desired suite with out buying any unneeded software.  The chart shows the five suites at the top and you check what software you want on the left .  After you do that it will show only the suites with those selected components  There is always a different route you can take when buying software which is buying them individually not in a packaged suite.  For this way of purchasing you can find very good deals on Adobe’s software, the only down side about this method is that their specials only last like a few days and usually never come back. Click banner below to see all of the current adobe specials.  Good luck.

-Enjoy

What does PC World have to say about Photoshop CS5?

by AdobephotoshopCS5.com on May.22, 2010, under Adobe, Reviews, Tips

Worth the Upgrade?

Photoshop CS5 has lots of little tweaks, enhancements, and improvements that add up to smoother workflow, greater convenience, and more creative potential for those who use Photoshop day in and day out. If you’re still using CS3, combining the advances of CS4 with CS5 makes upgrading an easy decision. If you are currently using CS4, moving up to CS5 could save you some time and effort–especially if your regular tasks include masking and cloning. If you are into painting, the new Mixer Brush may be enough to make the upgrade worthwhile. And if you do a lot of low-light photography, in which noise is a problem, the fact that Camera RAW 6 won’t be available to CS4 users is very compelling. However, moving from CS4 to CS5 it isn’t one of those mandatory, can’t-avoid-it decisions for other Photoshop users who are satisfied with their current workflow and toolset.

Photoshop Extended - Upgrade Plan

Upgrade to CS5 now

As usual, Photoshop and the rest of Creative Suite 5 are available in a somewhat confusing array of packages. But when you stop to read what each contains, it becomes a clear issue of deciding just what programs you need (or want) and which ones you don’t.

You can buy Photoshop CS5 Standard or Extended as stand-alone applications, for $699 or $999, respectively. Upgrades from Adobe Photoshop CS2, CS3, or CS4 Standard, or from Adobe Photoshop CS3 or CS4 Extended, to Photoshop CS5 Standard is $199; upgrading to Photoshop CS5 Efor Extendextended is $349. From Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0, 6.0, or 8.0 (Mac OS) or Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0, 7.0, or 8.0 (Microsoft Windows) to Photoshop CS5 Standard is $599, and to Extended, it’s $899.

If you use at least two Adobe programs, it may be more economical to get one of the Creative Suite box sets. Adobe Photoshop CS5 is available as a component of Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Standard ($1299). Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended is available as a component of Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium ($1899), Adobe Creative Suite 5 Web Premium ($1799), Adobe Creative Suite 5 Production Premium ($1699), or Adobe Creative Suite 5 Master Collection ($2599).[PCW]

  • Have you purchased CS5? If so let us know why and what are some pros and cons about the software.
  • If you don’t have it, why not?

Internship – Tips on how to catch one

by AdobephotoshopCS5.com on May.08, 2010, under Tips

One of the best ways to find yourself with a solid full time career position in a well established company is an Internship.  This way you will be getting great hands on field experience and figure out if this is what you want to do for awhile.  If you don’t like the line of work you were doing then that’s okay because it is not a permanent position.

There are many upon many Internship opportunities out there, the fastest way and the only way to get one is to go looking for one.  I know the idea of actually looking for an internship sounds crazy but if you want a good one you have to start searching and applying up to 6 months before the start date, and don’t be the person that just assumes you will get one.  Make it your goal to be 100% sure you have one, this includes following up with ever company you submit a resume and cover letter too.  The number one thing you need to do is get who ever is reading your cover letter and resume to remember you after reading through it once.  This means alter your resume and cover letter each time you send it to a new company, make sure 100% of your info in the cover letter and resume are complete relevant to the job position.

When writing a cover letter you are convincing the reader to read your resume when finished with the letter, so be sure to mention some but not all of your skills and hint that the rest are listed on the resume along  with that use a very very wide vocabulary to show you are not some sap.  Another thing you must do in your cover letter is tell whom is reading it that you are the only person for this job and you possess all the right skills and many more.  A company does not want average they want the best and your job in the cover letter is to tell them your are the best, just don’t come across sounding to cocky.

When writing a resume you must spend a lot of time choosing each word very carefully to ensure that the message your wish to inflict on the reader is appropriately received.  Once you have a final copy you need to let many different people read it and guess what type of job you would be applying for.  If they guess the wrong job you don’t have the right information displayed in your resume and you must change it to show that you are applying for the right job.  Also use spell check and search for grammatical errors, because if an interviewer finds an error that comes across as sloppy.

I hope this will encourage some if not all of you young college students and grads to go out and find an internship or a job.

Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know about this subject or any other one.

The smell of summer is in the air!

by AdobephotoshopCS5.com on Apr.14, 2010, under Tips

As we all know summer is upon us, lets try and not let this summer pass you by as the last did. Here is a great plan that anyone and everyone can and should do in very little time.

Grab a piece of paper or open a word document and place a title at the top saying “Things I Really Really Want to do This Summer!”

After you have accomplished this really difficult task there is an even more challenging one to come. Fill the list up with fun things you would like to do this summer and as you do them cross them off. Remember this is a different list than your “To-Do” list, there should be no tasks that make you want to cry on this list, purely fun or enjoyable things. This will give you great sense of accomplishment when fall rolls back around and all of your peers ask you what you did over the summer. If you have trouble remembering then simple pull out your list of things you did and blow the minds of your jealous friends and coworkers.

Feel more than free to share your list in a comment and see what other people plan on doing. This way maybe you could pick a few ideas from someone. =)

Using the Color Range to select an area in Photoshop

by AdobephotoshopCS5.com on Apr.05, 2010, under Adobe, Funny, Hints, Tips

The color range my be one the most useful features in Photoshop CS4. Here is what you can do with the color range… and in this example your friends may be at risk.

Step 1. Find a Photo..

Friends gay facebok picture

In this example we have just use a photo we found from a friend on facebook. We are now going to switch the head out or lay Ellen Degenris’s head over top of his.

ellen degeneres

Step 2. Find a head shot on Ellen..

We now have the two photos we are going to for the final image.

Step 3. Arranging the photos in Photoshop…

Once you have opened Photoshop and imported both photos onto the same canvas, you will now now make the first picture not visible by selecting the little eye logo beside the layer.

Step 4. Using the Color Range feature to select just Ellens head from the photo…

Highlight the layer that holds the photo of Ellen in the layers panel, click the select tab at the top of the screen and select “color range…”. Once you  have the color range open the default pointer will be an eye dropper. Select the color of the background by simple clicking it. Then click OK. You now have a selection of just the background color.

Step 5. Delete the unwanted background and shirt…

With the background will selected simple press the Delete key on your key board. After that is gone you will find your erase tool and go over the white shirt to make it not visible and only leaving her head.

Step 6. Placing the head on the body…

You can now make all layers visible. Highlight the Ellen layer and drag the head over the first picture. Using the Auto Transform Controls with your Move Tool (the default tool, the arrow) grab a corner holding down the Shift key and make the layer smaller of bigger to fit the body perfect and to cover up the original head.

Step 7. Save the file you are done!

Here is the finished product…
